(GOALS)

The objective of the Preparatory Year Deanship (PYD) is to prepare students to deal with undergraduate courses (and textbooks) that are taught in English in the first place. English Language Program is a program based on the skills that focus on skills of the four basic in reading, listening, speaking and writing. The focus is on each of these skills in the order in which they are listed previously it to attain the objective of the program. Each skill is tested reading, listening, speaking and writing for each unit every week. English program focuses on English language skills: to expect, and get the main ideas, and find details and to express an opinion, organize, and integrate ideas and assembly, and expand ideas, creating, writing, revising, and editing.

The university offers four English courses: English 1, English 2, English 3, English 4. Students are taught on a different level, according to the college. Students are taught from the Colleges of Business Administration and Computer Science at the level below the average for English 3, and is the teaching of engineering and medicine at the level of the Mediterranean. Each course is covered in a quarter of a year or ten weeks. All students must complete English 3 grade not less than 70% for
the transition to English 4

Ventures

The Ventures course offered by the KFU PYD is a pre-beginner course which focuses on Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. The text book is divided into five lessons. 1: An introduction to the Topic, 2: Focus on Grammar, 3:

Reading, 4: Writing, and 5: Real Life Applications

NorthStars

The Northstars course offered by the KFU PYD starts at the-beginner level and progresses to a high intermediate level which focuses on Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. The Northstars series focuses on the English language skills of: predicting, acquiring main ideas, finding details, making inferences, expressing opinions, organizing, integrating ideas, synthesizing, expanding ideas,

creating, writing, revising, and editing
